How to take your test.
Our Omega Balance, Vitamin D and HbA1c tests all use the same simple finger-prick card. It takes less than a minute — here’s exactly what to do.
Taking the test.
- Wash your hands
Zinzino Test is an approved in vitro diagnostics product for personal blood sample collection at home. First wash your hands with soap, rinse well with warm water and dry them.
- Prepare the sample card
Take the sample card out of the paper envelope (save the envelope for later). Tear off the SAVE part and take a picture of the test ID — you can only see your result with your anonymous test ID. Place the card on the table with the two circles facing up.
- Stimulate blood flow
Make big circles with your arm or shake your hand downwards for 20 seconds.
- Use the lancet
Remove the transparent safety cap from the single-use lancet. Clean the tip of your finger with the alcohol wipe (middle finger recommended). Place the lancet against the lower part of the fingertip, facing the collection paper, and push until you hear a click.
- Don’t touch the filter paper
Keep your fingers off the filter paper throughout.
- Fill the circles
Fill one circle at a time. Squeeze your finger gently and let a drop fall inside the circle by itself; if one drop doesn’t cover it, allow one more drop immediately. Leave the card flat at room temperature for at least 10 minutes to dry.
- Seal it
Put the sample card back in the paper envelope, then into the metal bag and close it. Do not remove the desiccant packet inside the metal bag.
- Post it and register
Place the metal bag into the large envelope addressed to the laboratory, add the correct postage and post it. Register your test code at zinzinotest.com, where you’ll see your result in 10–20 days. Keep the SAVE part of the card.
- Warm hands bleed more easily — wash them in warm water first.
- Use your middle finger and prick the side of the fingertip.
- Let the drops fall onto the card — don’t smear them.
- Photograph your test ID before you post the card.
- Put the correct postage on the envelope.
