Hair testing.
Our 1,200+ item sensitivity test uses a simple hair sample and bioresonance technology.
What is bioresonance hair testing?
Bioresonance therapy is one of a number of procedures — including homeopathy, acupuncture and other naturopathic procedures — within the area of empirical healing. It was invented in Germany in 1977 by Franz Morell and his son-in-law, engineer Erich Rasche. The concept is that the machine’s electromagnetic waves create a resonance in the body’s cells which, in turn, brings about the desired effects. It is a safe, gentle, non-invasive alternative technique designed on the premise that all particles of matter generate electromagnetic energy.
How is a hair sample tested for sensitivities?
The hair sample is tested through a process called bioresonance testing, which analyses the electromagnetic frequencies emitted by the sample. The sample is exposed to specific frequencies associated with different foods, environmental factors and other substances, and the equipment measures the body’s response — identifying potential sensitivities or intolerances. This non-invasive method is suitable for most people.
How accurate is testing by hair?
Bioresonance testing is quickly growing in popularity as a non-invasive way to identify potential intolerances, offering a good balance of accuracy, speed and affordability. Over many years of hair testing, thousands of customers have reported how the tests changed their lives and eased unwanted symptoms. Sensitivity testing is a great starting point for dietary and lifestyle changes that can have a profound impact.
Please note: bioresonance is categorised under Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Tests and related information do not make a medical diagnosis and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of your doctor or another qualified health provider with any questions about a medical condition or symptoms.
Does this test test for allergies?
No — this test is not for allergy. Allergy and sensitivity are often used interchangeably but they are not the same. A food sensitivity may be uncomfortable, embarrassing or even debilitating, but it is not potentially life-threatening like a food allergy. Sensitivities can change over time and can often be managed with an elimination diet or dietary changes, whereas allergies tend to be lifelong.
Allergic reactions involve the immune system and antibodies; intolerance or sensitivity does not. Because hair testing does not assess antibody levels, it cannot be used to test for allergies.
Can children use these tests?
We believe any symptoms experienced by children under 6 should be looked into by a medical professional, because an infant’s or toddler’s digestive and immune systems are still developing rapidly. If you decide to proceed with testing, make sure your child keeps a balanced diet while following the elimination phase. Even for older children, some sections — such as stress & inflammation, hyaluronic acid and collagen — don’t apply in the same way as for adults.
Do you have to cut the hair or pull it out?
You don’t have to cut it — hair can be pulled out from the root. It can also be taken from a comb or hairbrush if that’s easier.
My hair is very short. Can I still take the test?
Yes. Your hair doesn’t have to come from your head — it can come from your leg, arm or even chest. Please do not provide pubic hair.
My hair is dyed. Will this affect the result?
No. Dyed hair has no effect on the results with this testing method.
What does the test include?
A 1,200+ item sensitivity test covering food, non-food and metal sensitivities, mineral analysis, vitamins A–K, additives, gut health, digestion, gut biome, hormones, anti-ageing, stress & inflammation, sleep, skin health and nutrition — plus a one-hour consultation with Janet to go through your report. Finger-prick blood tests.
Three simple at-home tests, analysed by an independent laboratory.
How to take a finger-prick testHow do the Omega Balance, Vitamin D and HbA1c tests work?
All three are dried blood spot (DBS) tests: you prick your finger at home and drip one or two drops of blood onto a filter-paper card, then post it to VITAS Analytical Services, an independent laboratory in Norway. DBS is scientifically proven to be as accurate as a venous blood sample for these measurements.
Are my results anonymous?
Yes. Your sample is identified only by an anonymous test ID — the laboratory has none of your personal details. Keep the SAVE part of the sample card, as you can only see your results with that ID.
How long do results take?
Results are usually ready 10–20 days after the laboratory receives your sample, and are shown on zinzinotest.com in easy-to-understand graphics. Janet then goes through them with you in your consultation.
How often should I re-test?
We recommend re-testing after around 120 days (about 4 months). That’s how long it takes for diet, lifestyle and supplement changes to show in your Omega balance and Vitamin D status, and it lets you track your progress.
Do I need to tell my GP?
We encourage you to speak with your GP about your results. They won’t replace a full medical work-up, and if you have any health issues please confirm the results and our recommendations with your doctor before starting supplements.
